Don't let its size fool you! Despite being smaller than many of its Asian neighbors, Singapore packs a powerful punch when it comes to attractions and experiences. From towering skyscrapers and lush greenery to bustling food markets and world-class dining, you'll be hard-pressed to run out of things to do.

If you're planning a multi-country trip through Asia, Singapore makes an excellent addition to your itinerary. Spend a week here to fully immerse yourself in its vibrant culture and diverse attractions. But even if you're short on time, four days can give you a satisfying taste of what Singapore has to offer.

My Top 10 Must-Do's

Ready to explore this incredible city-state? Here are my top 10 recommendations:

10. Marina Bay Sands Infinity Pool:

If you've seen images of Singapore's skyline, chances are you've spotted the iconic Marina Bay Sands. This architectural marvel is more than just a hotel; it's a destination in itself.

Perched atop three towering skyscrapers, the Sands Skypak boasts a world-famous infinity pool with breathtaking 360-degree views of the city. Lounge by the pool, sip on cocktails, and soak up the atmosphere. 

The only reason I am putting a number 10 is because you need to be a guest at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel to experience this pool and the rooms per night can be quite expensive. However, this is a Must-Visit for Guests and Non-Guests Alike.

While pool access is typically reserved for hotel guests, there are other ways to experience this iconic landmark. Consider dining at one of the hotel's many restaurants or exploring the surrounding attractions such as visiting the observation deck.

Pro Tip: For the ultimate experience, try to visit during sunrise or sunset to witness Singapore bathed in golden light.

9. Universal Studio Singapore:

Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park located within the Resorts World Sentosa at Sentosa in Singapore.

Out of all the Universal studios I’ve visited, I have to say the one in Singapore has been the least exciting. It is quite small compared to its counterparts. If you purchase the express pass like I did, you can get through the rides in about 3 to 4 hours, depending on the season. 

However, if you are travelling with small children, it can be quite a thrilling experience. There are a lot of children's rides and attractions that would make your day there very enjoyable. 

If you are a solo traveler like me or travelling with a group of friends, I recommend mixing your day with another attraction within the resort, such as the Adventure Cove Waterpark, the Skypak or the S.E.A. aquarium. 

8. Arts and Science Museum: A Futuristic Feast for the Senses

The Arts and Science Museum is a unique and captivating attraction in Singapore, offering a blend of art, science, and technology. One of the highlights of my visit was the Light Exhibition. This immersive experience featured a series of stunning light installations that played with colors, shapes, and reflections. It was like stepping into a futuristic, dreamlike world.

Beyond the light exhibition, the museum offers a variety of other fascinating exhibits. I was particularly impressed by the Digital light canvas, where you had the opportunity to make your own design and see it come to life on the wall. The museum's architecture is also worth noting, with its distinctive lotus-like design and spacious interior.

7. Merlion Statue: A Singapore Icon

The Merlion statue is a beloved symbol of Singapore, representing the city-state's heritage as a fishing village and its aspirations as a modern metropolis. Located at the mouth of the Singapore River, the Merlion is a half-lion, half-fish creature that spews water from its mouth.

Visiting the Merlion statue is a must-do for any tourist to Singapore. The statue is a popular spot for photos, and it's also a great place to simply relax and enjoy the view of the Marina Bay area. As I stood near the Merlion, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and wonder at the city's transformation over the years.

6. Flower Dome: A Botanical Oasis

The Flower Dome is a stunning greenhouse within Gardens by the Bay, showcasing a diverse collection of plants from Mediterranean climates. As I stepped inside, I was immediately struck by the vibrant colors and fragrant aromas.

One of my favorite exhibits was the plants from different regions of the world, especially, the palm trees from Latin America. The Flower Dome also features a variety of themed gardens, including a cacti garden and an orchid garden.

Whether you're a plant enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful escape from the city, the Flower Dome is a must-visit.

5. Cloud Forest: A Misty Adventure

The Cloud Forest is another highlight of Gardens by the Bay, featuring a lush rainforest environment with a towering waterfall. As I entered the Cloud Forest, I was enveloped in a cool mist that created a truly immersive experience.

One of the most impressive features of the Cloud Forest is the tall waterfall and the cloud mountain. I also enjoyed exploring the various plant species, including orchids, ferns, and pitcher plants.

If you're looking for a refreshing and educational experience, the Cloud Forest is a must-visit.

4. SuperTree Grove: A Daytime Adventure

The SuperTree Grove is a must-visit attraction in Gardens by the Bay, even during the day. These towering, tree-like structures are covered in lush vegetation, creating a unique and immersive environment.

While the SuperTree Grove is particularly stunning at night when it's illuminated, there's still plenty to enjoy during the day. Take a leisurely stroll through the grove, admire the diverse plant life, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. You can also climb the OCBC Skyway for panoramic views of the Gardens and the surrounding cityscape.

Whether you're a nature lover or simply looking for a relaxing escape, the SuperTree Grove is a must-see destination.

3. Chinatown: A Cultural Melting Pot

Chinatown is a vibrant and bustling district that offers a glimpse into Singapore's rich cultural heritage. The narrow streets are lined with colorful shops selling everything from souvenirs to traditional Chinese medicine.

One of the highlights of Chinatown is the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. This impressive temple is a popular place of worship and a must-see for anyone interested in Chinese culture. Inside the temple, you can find intricate carvings, colorful statues, and the revered Buddha Tooth Relic.

After exploring the temple, be sure to sample some of the delicious street food that Chinatown has to offer. From satay to char kway teow, there's something to satisfy every taste bud. Don't forget to visit a local coffee shop and try a traditional Singaporean coffee or tea.

Chinatown is a great place to experience the vibrant atmosphere of Singapore and learn more about its diverse culture.

2. Garden Rhapsody and Spectra Show: A Nighttime Spectacle

Garden Rhapsody and Spectra are two stunning lights, and sound shows that take place at Gardens by the Bay. These shows feature synchronized music, lights, and water fountains, creating a mesmerizing spectacle that's not to be missed.

Garden Rhapsody is a light show that illuminates the SuperTrees in a kaleidoscope of colors. The music is carefully selected to complement the visuals, creating a harmonious and immersive experience. Spectra is a more dramatic show that combines light, water, and fire effects to create a stunning display.

Both shows are best enjoyed in the evening, when the Gardens are illuminated, and the atmosphere is magical. So, be sure to plan your visit accordingly and prepare to be amazed.

Hawker centers are a quintessential part of Singapore's food culture, offering a wide variety of affordable and delicious dishes. These open-air food courts are the perfect place to experience the local cuisine and interact with friendly locals.

Some of the most popular hawker centers in Singapore include Maxwell Food Centre, Old Airport Road Food Centre, and Lau Pa Sat. At these centers, you'll find a dizzying array of stalls serving everything from noodles and rice dishes to seafood and barbecue.
